Joey Whitney is an accomplished musician who is driven by an incredible passion for self-expression. His playing has been described as a unique blend of emotion, grace, and fire. Joey Whitney has found a distinctive voice on tenor saxophone and his sound is often recognizable from the first few notes. 

Joey Whitney has performed at many feature venues such as The National Air and Space Museum, Carnegie Institution, The Washington Ritz Carlton, The Phillips Collection, The St. Regis, National Harbor, Twins Jazz, Twins Lounge, The Carlyle Club, HR-57, The Japanese Embassy, 219 Basin Street, Takoma Station, Columbia Station, Posh and many others.  He has been a featured soloist at The Middleburg Cool Jazz Festival, The John Kirby Jazz Festival, and The Duke Ellington Jazz Festival.

Joey has been cast in the feature film musical "Bright Lights and Promises".  Music by Grammy Award winning artist with an award winning script developed at Sundance.  In addition to making his "on screen" debut, he will be in the studio recording the saxophone tracks for the film score.  Joey is very excited about this new endeavor and looks forward to filming. Expected release date Fall of 2010.
