Inspired by the classic jazz recordings of the '40s and '50s, Joe Whitney grew up listening and playing along on his saxophone to his Father's albums. After years of saturation, he cultivated his smooth velvety tone that is often recognizable from the first few notes. As a leader and a sideman, he is credited on numerous recordings and films. Having performed across the globe, Joe continues to be in demand as a musician and teacher in the greater Washington D.C. area.
